I'm a lifelong sports enthusiast and a father of four kids at every stage of the athletic journey - from youth ball to the college recruiting grind. When my oldest started navigating the path to competing at the next level, I saw firsthand how difficult it was. The politics, the gatekeeping, the sheer confusion of trying to figure out where your kid stands and what to do about it.
But what frustrated me most wasn't my own family's experience - it was watching talented kids get overlooked because their families didn't know how to work the system. Kids who could compete at the college level but didn't have the connections, the exposure, or the guidance to get there. That's not a talent problem. That's an access problem.
